Making wishes

Hello all, and a warm welcome to new followers - thanks for taking the time to follow, and I hope you'll enjoy the sharing of crafty makes (& tolerate the waffle!).

We've been experiencing the usual British summer mix of sunshine and showers, but we've managed a few nice days out, as there is a little four-legged beast in the house that needs walkies every day (sunshine or rain!). It's also meant that when the rain has arrived, it's been a good opportunity to get the inks and pencils out and do some colouring - and then spend some time putting cards together! It's nice to have 'rediscovered' the enjoyment in crafting cards again, after a bit of a break for a few months.  But I'm also now lusting after a new set of pencils and have got my beady eye on a fab set of Faber Castell polychromos (when it comes to crafting, I'm not a cheap date lol!). If you use these, I'd love to know how you find them to use (while I'm in the process of saving up for a set!).

Anyway, I've enjoyed playing with a few of the new digi stamps from LOTV that I somehow accidentally bought when I was browsing..... I don't know how that happens!  This little cutie is 'Make a wish' and I think she is just adorable!

I really enjoyed colouring up this sweet image, using my usual mix of copics and pencils (with a little bit of added sparkle)

The sentiment stamps and papers are from LOTV, with a mix of die cut flowers

Hope you like it!

Thanks for taking the time to visit and please leave a comment to let me know you've called by to my little corner of Blogland! I always try to make return visits!

Enjoying the holidays!

I can honestly say, I could get used to this 'not at work' business very easily! The sheer bliss of no alarm clock in the morning, and the time and breathing space to think about what to do and where to go - it's just wonderful!  And I am a world class 'potterer' - and can quite happily spend my day doing all sorts of little things. And it is beyond nice to have the time to rediscover things in my craft stash and have a play!

I'm enjoying the digi stamps from LOTV (& may well get tempted by their current digi offer - well, it'd be rude not to!).  This was a recent digi purchase of an older image - but she is such a cutie!

I've coloured the image with copics and pencil, and a fair amount of fine glitter! And this one is in apricot shades - quite a change for me!

I'm trying to be good about using up some of my stash of papers, and this gorgeous paper is from MME.  The flowers are from WOC and the sentiment stamp from LOTV.

Hope you like it!

For those of you who read an earlier post, our youngest is now back from his European travels after nearly 3 weeks, and the house is once again littered with damp towels, cereal bowls, glasses, etc.! Deep joy!  But it's nice to have him back - and it sounds like they all had a fab time (although I'm sure parents only get the edited version of events).  RubyDoo was soooo excited to see him when he walked through the door, she was nearly doing somersaults! And after the excitement of Wimbledon, she's currently trying to trash every tennis ball that she comes across...

Yet more birthdays!

Well, it's nearly my 'end of term' at work and I am soooo looking forward to having a break! Before working in a school, I was probably one of the many people who thought that things at school gradually wound down towards the end of the school year in summer, with lots of relaxing, chilled activities....  After working at school for nearly 4 years now, I can assure you that it is precisely the opposite! Everything over the last few weeks seems to gain momentum as everybody pedals furiously downhill! The students may well be winding down, but all the staff are racing round like demented bees, trying to get everything completed. And even though many staff are also in work over the holidays (no, staff at schools do not only work 9-3, and have LOTS of holiday!), I think everyone is ready for a lie down in darkened room!

But, aside from the madness of work, the month of many birthdays continues and I'd like to share another one of the birthday cards - this one was for my lovely stepdaughter Lucy!

I've used the gorgeous 'April' from Mo Manning - just love those little wellies!

I've coloured the image with my usual mix of copics, graphits & pencils.
The papers and sentiment stamps are from LOTV, with die cuts and lace.

Hope you like it!

Thank you for the lovely comments, and I'm hoping with a little extra 'relaxation' time, I'll have chance to catch up with more of your lovely blogs.

Summer birthdays!

July is a busy month for me, birthday-wise. It's my lovely step-daughter Lucy's, then our beautiful daughter Lauren's birthday, not to mention quite a few other friends at home & at work! So I thought I'd share one of the recent cards, using a gorgeous LOTV digi stamp

I've coloured the image with copics and graphits and some pencil, with some added sparkle of course! You can't have a fairy without sparkle!

The papers are from LOTV with some die cut flowers and gems
The sentiment stamp is also from LOTV.

Hope you like it!

Thanks for the recent comments, it feels nice to be back in Blogland after my little break!

Special Friends

I can't believe it's Tuesday already and time flying by so quickly! Thank you for your lovely comments about the recent cards, it's a wonderful therapy to do some crafting and a great way to get some 'time out' from the 'busyness' of everyday life!

Our youngest has arrived in Zagreb in Croatia, and is, as far as we can tell, having a fabulous time - which we expected he would do! After the hustle and bustle of getting all his things ready, it now seems spookily quiet in the house - although there is the ever-bouncy and mischievous Ruby to contend with!  And I had a lovely time this weekend with a special friend who has had a tough time over the last few months and, as she now lives in Scotland, we relished having some time together. Before she left yesterday, I gave her a card I'd made for her

I've used one of the lovely LOTV sentiments, which says it all really.
The backing papers are also from LOTV, with some stitching and extra bits from stash.

And just to catch up, I've added a couple of pics from today of our Rubydoo
(she'll never make a doggy model, it's so hard to get her to pose for a photo - or I'm a rubbish photographer lol!)

Just one year old now, and full of bounce!

Hope you have a good week,
