A little bit vintage

Hello all and I hope that your week has been going well. Sadly, it's a bit damp and drizzly here today - not so good for me but the garden is enjoying it lol!  And thank you for all your lovely comments - and for those about the family pic!  It's not often we all get together now that the older 2 girls live and work away, but I suppose it makes us enjoy and appreciate the times we are all gathered even more!

A slightly different sort of card to share with you today - and I had so much fun playing! And - shock, horror - no stamping and colouring!  Instead I had a workspace covered with all sorts of bits of paper, distress inks, lace, embellishments, etc.  And I realised that as I'm doing any crafting that my 'working' space gradually gets smaller and smaller (as I get so much stuff out!) until I'm putting the card together in a space about 8" x 8"!  Perhaps I'm just a messy crafter! (Is there such a thing as a tidy one?)

The gorgeous backing papers are from K&Co (just love this pad!). The vintage photo image comes from Joanna Sheen's Fashion Boutique cd. The cute little vintage postcards were embellishments I bought so long ago I've forgotten where they were from!

I've added a sweet heart charm, lace from stash and some gorgeous cherry blossoms and rose from WOC (the rose was an ivory coloured one, but I spritzed it with Ranger 'perfect pearls' mist in a lovely soft vintage pink)
I added a Marianne die cut swirl, used a distressing tool round the edges and added quite a  bit of distress ink!  And the inside decorated to match

Hope you like my little bit of vintage!
And hope you enjoy the rest of your day,
Back soon,
Kim x

  2. This is beautiful Kim. A wonderful vintage card

I'm the same, I always start with a clean and tidy workspace but then everything is back out everywhere. I tend to tidy my space now after each make. Lol

  4. Hi Kim

This is a fab Vintage card. So pretty.

I struggle with vintage but you have hit the spot really well.

Im a fairly tidy crafter think thats because I craft in the frontroom so I try to keep tidy but I still end up with a space of 12x12 to create a card in lol.

  10. Beautiful Kim! I love it! I was only just thinking to myself yesterday, I don't have ANY vintagey stuff but I really love the effect, my birthday is soon so I've made a HUGE list of all the vintage craft stuff I want hahaha :P I'm a messy crafter too, it just goes everywhere! Until there's scraps and bits all over the floor and open packets of everything on my desk lol, fun times :P

  11. I love this vintage card, just love it! This is my favourite style but I struggle with it, however, you nailed this one because it is gorgeous! I giggled about the work space getting smaller and smaller because that's exactly what happens to me!

  13. WOW!!! This is stunning Kim. I really love the vintage image, gorgeous papers and wonderful detailing.
You asked about the LOTV sketch pads. I have only coloured the one image so far and found it fine with my Promarkers. The paper is smooth and the colours didn't bleed. The only thing I am not sure of is colouring a larger area and how well the colours will blend but as most of the flowers are fairly small I don't think this will be a problem. I hope that helps.
