I am sailing...

Good morning all and it's Friday - and challenge time again! Over at Crafty Catz this week the new challenge is - Monochrome! And the sponsor for this week is

and the winner will receive 3 digital stamps. So do have a look over at the CraftyCatz Challenge Blog - and I warn you, the DT have done some fantastic work this week! So have a browse at their creations for inspiration (and do visit their blogs - they're a very talented bunch!) - and then start crafting!
My contribution for this challenge is


I love this little character from LOTV with his sailing boat - and doesn't he look proud! I wasn't sure about colouring him in monochrome, but decided to take the bull by the horns - or rather the promarkers & pencils to hand! After my initial doubts I think he turned out ok. 
The backing papers are from K&Co (the spotty one!), and American Crafts, with a panel embossed with Cuttlebug 'Swiss Dots'. For added definition I decided to add some stitching round the panels and distress ink. The sentiment is also from LOTV - with a die cut from Spellbinders 'lattice motifs'. I added some twine and a wooden button & a little metal ships wheel from my stash.

    I think this card is such a sweet one - ideal for a young boy! I love the color scheme, and the stitching is a really nice feature. I also love the image and the embellishments you've used - they're just right for the theme of this card!
