Love Lives Here!

Hello all and hope that your week is going well? Just the usual goings-on in our household, and I'm still getting used to having Jack on school holidays and Lauren back at home. It is lovely to have a house full again (as we always seem to have their friends here as well!) but it does seem to drastically reduce my crafting time! On the days I'm not at work I seem to move from making food to clearing up, washing up, tidying up and then starting all over again! Hey ho. We had an enjoyable hour or so today though when we called in at our local Cats Protection and spent a happy hour cuddling cats and kittens! I'd love to bring them all home - but Grumpy Poppy would be even more grumpy and Tilly the Dog would keep trying to wash them & play with them (and probably get scratched to bits in the process!). Do support your local groups like this if you can - they need all the help they can get!
Anyway, for something different today I thought I'd show a couple of little pieces of cross stitch. I do love my sewing, even though the papercrafts seem to have taken over somewhat!

This was a simple design that I loved and I just put it in a basic Ikea frame. I think the frame probably needs some decoration or embellishment - what do you think? Suggestions welcome!
I must admit that I like the challenge of something a bit more complicated sometimes but I also enjoy making simple 'hangers' for doors, etc. - and these seem to be scattered about all over at Christmas. I love decorating up at Christmas (probably go a bit overboard really!) - so now I make them and tend to give them away to friends!
This was supposed to be a Christmas one, but I think it could be for all year really. Apart from the gold fleck in the Aida fabric (which my photo doesn't show!) it's fairly basic.
Anyway, I'm hoping to get some papercrafting time tonight - some DT work to do to keep me out of mischief!
Back soon, Kim  x

I'm entering the 'Love Lives Here' picture in the following challenges (assuming they'll have me as it's not a card lol!) :-

  2. Hi Tilly,
These are both gorgeous. I too think that the wooden frame looks nice as it is and draws the eye to the lovely stitched design.
How lovely for you to go and have a cuddle with the cats at the Cat's Protection. We adopted both of ours from there and I really admire the work the charity does.
Hope you have some nice crafting time this evening

  6. What gorgeous creations Kim, you are a very talented lady. All of our pussy cat babies have come from rescue centres. Sadly we have no babies left now and we now live in a second floor apartment so it wouldn't be fair to take on any more.

  8. Hi Kim these are beautiful, love them both but I do like the second one. I like the frame bare on the first one as it would spoil the Love Lives Here crosstitch. Caroline xxx

  9. Oh i'm so happy that you are involved in your local CP Kim. I am too and I love going there. Felt so sad this past Saturday as they had their Summer fayre on but I wasn't well enough to go. We always go to their events. We always make donations though but I just love going. I hear you about wanting to take all of these gorgeous cats and kittens home. I always get tearful when I have to leave, im soppy like that!.
Your cross stitch frame and door hanger are fantastic hun, I love them!!! you should sell them, you could make a packet. I would buy definitely!!!. The only thing I may do to the frame is paint it one of the colours in your sewing scheme? maybe white or blue, just a suggestion. Wouldn't add anything else as think it would take away from the gorgeous stitching. You are certainly a multi talented lady Kim!!. Hugs Clare xxx P.S So glad you have got your lovely family together again
