Birthday Balloons!

Good morning! And I'm pleased to announce that, despite my husband going off fishing for the day (which is usually the sign of doom!), that the sun is shining! Yippee! After miserable grey skies and rain all day yesterday, it's so nice to see some sunshine.  So a quick post from me before I head off to tidy up from the weekend, and then head to the shops.  As my son starts back at school next week we decided it was time to check the fit on his school blazer. Ooops! How do they grow quite so fast? It doesn't seem 5 minutes ago since his blazer looked like it belonged to someone else and seemed to be quite a few sizes too big.  Now it's definitely a bit too short with what look like 3/4 length sleeves! So, it's off to the school uniform shop - again - and yet more money having to be handed over. Sigh.

Anyway, today's card uses a colour combination I haven't tried before - lilac and lime green!

But I think they actually work ok together!  The sweet Saturated Canary digi has been coloured with promarkers and pencils, with a little dusting of chalk round the edges (as I didn't have a lilac distress pad lol!).
The lime backing paper was a freebie with a craft magazine, with some purple coredinations card which I've edged with the Tonic floral border punch. The sentiment is from LOTV.  The just some lime and lilac organza ribbons from Joanna Sheen and some gems from my stash.
So quite a simple card from me, but I think it works ok.
Back soon, Kim x

I'm entering this card into the following challenges:-

  2. It's a lovely card Kim, your colouring is beautiful and I love the pretty border punch too.

Know what you mean about the uniform, it's so expensive when they get to high school isn't it? We've been trying stuff on this morning too.
