Another Friday! But I don't think this weekend will be quite as sunny as last weekend but hey ho. Just wanted to share this card with you.  This stamp was one of the first ones I really fell in love with and have used it many times.

It's a lovely Sarah Kay design called 'First Kiss' from Stampavie and so cute! I've coloured this with promarkers and watercolour pencils, with distress inks round all the edges.

The papers are from K&Co (Blue Awning - I just love all the papers in that range!) and the flowers and seam binding are from  Wild Orchid. The lace, cord & pearls are from my stash. The die cuts I've used are meadow leaf and Spellbinders. The sentiment is an LOTV one - but seemed to fit perfectly with this image.
Hope you like it - and all comments welcome!
Enjoy the weekend!  I'm off for a girlie weekend with a friend to Glasgow for a concert and some serious shopping & a night in a nice hotel - can't wait!

What beautiful sunny weather we've had! Just have a feeling though that it's not going to last much longer, so I've been out and about and enjoying it while it lasts. Just thought I'd add another card onto the blog, and trying to move away from the 'pink' theme!

This lovely image is from a range of stamps from Chocolate Baroque called 'Sunburst Scenes' and 'Country Views' and have a neat way of being able to mix and match the stamped images together to create different scenes. I've coloured this with promarkers and the backing paper is from K&Co. The roses, leaves and seam binding ribbon are from Wild Orchid.
Just thought it was a nice cheerful image to reflect the sunny spring weather! And I managed to produce a card without any pink on it!
Thanks for looking and I'm off to make the most of the sunshine before it disappears again!

Monday - again! It does seem to arrive quickly! It's been a beautiful weekend weather-wise, so not much card-making been happening, more tidying up the garden. But I did have time to finish this card off. A different style of image than what I seem to have been doing lately, on an easel card.
This is a lovely art nouveau style stamp from Creative Expressions called Beautiful Ladies, and she is rather beautiful! I've coloured her with promarkers. The papers are from NitWit collections and the roses and leaves are from Wild Orchid.
The die cut corner is from Marianne Creatables, and the pearls and ribbons from my (overflowing!) stash.
And thanks to my 13 year old son Jack, I've worked out how to add selected close-up shots! (I promised I'd thank him on here - lol!).
Hope you like her! I'll try and fit some more card-making in (in between work, garden, home, etc.) and put a few more on this week. Must try and move away from pink - I seem to be going through a pink phase at the moment!
Thanks for looking.

Friday, 23 March 2012

Hello, its Friday and another weekend ahead at last! And the weather forecast is good!  The card today is an LOTV stamp - appropriately called 'Ooops' - and for anyone who is familiar with boys and their activities will look very familiar! I recognise that expression so well!
I've coloured the image with promarkers and distress inks to soften the edges.  The sentiment ribbon is an old one from my stash by Making Memories, and the other ribbons & buttons from stash. I've used Spellbinders edgeabilities and Sizzix circle die cuts.
He's so cute - even though he's done something naughty!
Hope you enjoy the weekend!

Comfy Cushions!
Well, a big thank you to everyone who's taken the time to have a look at my blog! As I said, I'm a novice at this, but trying to learn fast!  But as it's for all sorts of crafts, just thought I'd add on a pic of another bit of cross stitch.

This cushion design, well the cross stitch bit, is from a Helen Phillips design, but I like the crisp clean look of it, particularly with the gingham. It's not quite the same when a dog has bounced on it a few times, but hey ho! I suppose that's what 'Home' is!  Thanks for looking x

Pretty in Pink!
A recent card, just love this image from LOTV - and it seemed a nice springtime image for the first day of Spring!
She has been coloured with promarkers, with Spun Sugar distress ink and the sentiment is from LOTV. I fell in love with the papers from Basic Grey which I've used here (Romani - Archangel). The flowers are from Wild Orchid and a meadow leaf die cut & swirl. Ribbon, gems (coloured with promarkers!) and pearls from stash.
Let's hope Spring is as bright & cheery!

Just thought I'd add one more Mother's Day card that I made recently. This has the LOTV fairy on again, but in a slightly different layout. As I said, it seems that this image was so popular!
She is cute though! The pretty backing paper is from the Smirk range, but I just loved the simple flowery design. The flowers are from Wild Orchid crafts, and I've used Spellbinder dies for the circle cuts and the edge.  I wasn't too sure about the 'mum' lettering, I don't usually use peel-offs, but I coloured these with promarkers so hopefully they blend in ok.

Just as a slightly different image, I thought I'd pop on a picture of some egg cosies that I made for a friend who'd just adopted some ex-battery hens! They were quick cross stitch ones, lined with a thick felt fabric, and finished with ribbon.
Quite cute really!

Thursday, 15 March 2012

As it's Mothering Sunday coming up and I'd like to add a few more images to this new blog, I thought I'd put on a couple of the Mother's Day cards on that I've been making for a few of my daughter's friends. Let's just hope that their mums like them!
This one is a delightful LOTV fairy.  She seemed to be the most popular choice of image when picking designs for the mothers day cards! This one is coloured with promarkers, K&Co backing papers and Wild Orchid rose and cherry blossoms. The lettering for 'Mum' was done on my beloved Big Shot with a Sizzix alphabet set (called Tina Thinks You're Cute - not sure why it has such an odd name?!).

Just for a change, this one was done with an oh-so-cute image of gorgeous puppies from the Furry Friends cd from Joanna Sheen, a collection of really lovely animal pics by Rachael Hale. I don't tend to do many cd images on cards these days as I seem to be addicted to stamping & colouring, but must admit I'll probably make quite a few more from this particular cd! The backing paper is also printed from the cd. The flower die-cut is a Marianne Creatables die, which are so useful for creating embellishments. The lettering is as on the fairy card, with ribbon & buttons from my stash.

Hope you like them too!
I'd just like to share a few recent cards -

This is a Lily of the Valley stamp - 'New Hat' - with the cutest girl on!
Coloured with promarkers and with a LOTV sentiment stamp. The roses are from Wild Orchid Crafts and the paper, ribbon & lace from my stash.

Another delightful image from LOTV - Lazy Afternoon - coloured with promarkers and watercolour pencils. The backing papers are K&Co (Blue Awning) with some added stitching and the ribbon from stash coloured with distress ink. I also like to use Tim Holtz distress inks around the outer edges of stamped images to soften the effect.  I think it makes quite a nice male/man's card!

This is a large stamp from Creative Expressions and their 'Stamp A Scene' range. I've coloured it with promarkers and watercolour pencils, and again used distress inks round the edge. The backing papers are Basic Grey, with eyelets, & ribbon from stash.

This is another LOTV stamp called 'Times To Treasure' - can you guess that I love their range of stamps?! The images are so cute without being too 'sugary' and are a delight to colour. The backing papers here are K&Co with lace, button & ribbon from my stash, and the roses & cherry blossoms are from Wild Orchid Crafts. This was made for a friend's birthday - and she really liked it thank goodness!
Thanks for looking and I'd love to hear your comments!
