Tilly with Presents!

Good morning all and hope that your week has started well? And it's the last day of April - and I can't think where the first four months of this year have gone. Time seems to have flown past. I'm just hoping that May brings more Spring-like weather, although we've got sunshine this morning!  Just a quick card to share with you today - I'm off to work (which seems such a shame on a sunny morning!).

This one is using a Wild Rose Studio stamp, Tilly with Presents (so no, not my Tilly the Dog - the sort of presents she brings consists of such things as sticks, muddy feet, unmentionable smells.....etc.!)

The backing papers are from K&Co with an embossed panel of coredinations card using Cuttlebug 'birthday' folder.

I've used promarkers and flexmarkers for colouring. I used a different type of card for stamping and colouring but wasn't too happy with it, I couldn't seem to get good blending or shading (I know, a poor workman blames his tools!).
I've added sentiment and stitching stamps from LOTV. The buttons and twine are from stash. It was just a quick simple layout, but I think it looks ok. I do try to restrain myself occasionally from adding lots of embellishments lol!
I'll be back tomorrow with some gorgeous new releases from Whimsy Digital stamps and a blog hop!

Feeling a little green...!

Hello to all in Blogland and I hope that you've been having a good weekend whatever you've been doing!  Nothing out of the ordinary here - the usual catering/cleaning/pet care!  And it's a very grey morning here so hoping that I might get some crafting in later (a list of DT things to be done lol!) after I get the dreaded ironing done! (sorry to use bad language on a crafting blog...lol!). Whose idea was it that white shirts should be worn for work and school? Obviously some sadistic person that didn't do the laundry. And I just feel that if I don't do it, the two options are my son would look like he'd permanently slept in his clothes (although admittedly it does look that way occasionally) or that he'd cause an electrical fire if I insisted he iron his own clothes!  And yes, I do know in my heart of hearts, that once he leaves home I can't ever imagine him ironing any clothes anyway!

Anyway, apologies for the little rant! Just wanted to share this card with you that I made with a cute LOTV stamp 'A saucer of milk'

I've gone for green shades on this one, but now I thinking that maybe it looks a bit dark?  I've coloured the image with promarkers and flexmarkers

I've distressed the edges and added some TH distress inks. The backing papers are from K&Co (just love these!) with some flowers & leaves from WOC. The seam binding ribbon is from Pretty Little Ribbon Shop and the ticket sentiment is from Whimsy, with their ticket die.  The cream lace is from stash.

And I decorated the inside to match!
Hope you like it! And I hope that you enjoy the rest of your weekend.  I'll grit my teeth and get the ironing board out!
Back soon,

It's all gone purple...!

Hello, and I'm back again with a new challenge over at CraftyCatz!
Now, before I go any further, I'm apologising now - it's a Christmas card! Shock, horror!  I don't think I've ever made a Christmas card in April before - this blogging business does strange things to your personal crafting calendar!
Anyway, over at CraftyCatz our lovely Beth has challenged us to 'The Colour Purple'!  So I decided to use a digi from Wee Stamps - Mountain Lily - that I've had for a while - and not coloured yet!

I've coloured the image with promarkers and flexmarkers and added some stickles to the wings and details!
The backing papers are from First Edition with some coredinations card.

I've used a Tonic punch on the border and a Tonic snowflake punch. The sheer ribbon is from Joanna Sheen and the snowflake charm is from Pretty Little Ribbon shop. The sentiment is from LOTV.
So after the shock of making a Christmas card, I thought it worked ok!
So I hope you'll have a look at the fantastic inspiration from the DT over at CraftyCatz and then join us with your 'purple' projects!

Lace & Flowers

Good morning and I hope that you've all had a great week.  And it's Friday - so nearly the weekend - yippee!
And because it's Friday it's time for a new challenge over at Totally Papercrafts - and this week our lovely Wendy has challenged Team A to use 'Flowers and Lace'.  So.... that was really difficult for me to do....not lol!  There are two fabulous sponsors this week from the Stamp Fairy and J & C Creations - so do have a look over at Totally Papercrafts and see the fabulous inspiration from the DT!

I've used one of my favourite Sarah Kay stamps 'Elodie in her garden'

The backing papers are from LOTV and stash! I've added lace from stash and some stitching.  The flowers are from WOC and added DooHickey die cut fence, Memory Box 'arboscello tree' and Poppystamps 'meadow leaf'.  The sentiment stamp is from LOTV.
I've coloured the image with a combination of promarkers and copics.

I must admit that I'm enjoying using the copic 'pinks' that I bought - and I've a feeling that I may shortly be adding a few more copics to my pen collection when the pennies allow!  And I enjoyed making this one - just hoping I've not thrown too much at it lol!

Whimsy New Releases

Good evening - and hope that your week has been going well? A very big thank you for all the lovely comments you left on my previous post when I was unsure about colour combos - your kind comments mean such a lot! And my daughter obviously thought the colours worked ok because the card was 'used' last night for her to send to one of her friends for her birthday!  And a very warm welcome to my new followers too - I'm delighted and humbled that you've taken the time out to follow my little corner of Blogland!

Anyway, just wanted to share another card I've made with one of the new April digital releases from Whimsy Digital Stamps - and this little cutie is called 'Allie & Angel' by Stamp Art Design

and apologies that the photo is a bit dark (the light was going a bit when I took this!)
I've coloured the image with promarkers, flexmarkers and a few copics on the pink - I'm still practising so don't judge me too harshly lol!

The backing papers are from Dovecraft - and were part of a challenge blog prize that I was lucky enough to win recently at Little Claires!  I've added spotty ribbon from Joanna Sheen, and a Marianne die cut swirl. Then just a few Tonic punched flowers with pearls from stash.  The punched border is also a Tonic punch.
Do have a look at the new digis from Whimsy - there are some fantastic ones!

Still not sure about the colours.....!

Hello all and hope that your week has started well?  How come the weekend always goes so quickly? It's been a grey day here and feels a bit cooler again unfortunately - haven't put the woolies away just yet!  But after getting all the Monday jobs done (i.e. clearing up after the weekend!) I did at least manage to get a little bit of crafting done.

Just thought I'd share this card with you using a digi stamp from Wee Stamps

And I've used a green/purple colour combo - which at first seemed like a good idea but now I'm not so sure!
I've coloured the image with promarkers and flexmarkers and added some Stickles to the balloon!

And colouring this persuaded me to get a few copics because I seem to struggle with the pinks in promarkers and flexmarkers! They always seem to turn out either lilac or rather dull! I'll have a play with the copics and let you know!
The backing papers are from LOTV and K&Co. The frame is using a Marianne die, with flowers from WOC and button, twine & lace from stash.  The sentiment tags are using LOTV stamps.
But despite me not being sure about the colour combo, I still think it looks ok - but it's such a cute image anyway!

Going Green....(well, sort of!)

Good morning all and I hope that you've been enjoying your weekend - whatever you've been doing! We had a gorgeous day yesterday with lots of sunshine - it felt like a perfect Spring day!  So lots of pottering in the garden and greenhouse and then a wander on the field at the back of us with Tilly the Dog! Lovely! But the grey clouds and rain are starting to roll in today so good job we could enjoy it yesterday!

Anyway, today is the second (and last - sob!) of my GDT spots for the Joanna Sheen Challenge - and for this challenge we have to 'Recycle Something'!  Now on my way back from Glasgow last week I bought a couple of tubs of treats for the gang at home - and the sturdy plastic tubs seemed just too good to throw away!  So this is what happened....

The 'before' photo (and yes, they were very scrummy!)
But then the papers, stamps, colours, lace, etc., came out to play, and.....

I used the Joanna Sheen House Mouse 'Spring' stamps 'Dip' (from HERE)
Such a cute pair! I've coloured them with promarkers and flexmarkers.  The backing papers are from K&Co and coredinations. I've added some lace from stash, some sheer ribbon from Joanna Sheen and some Marianne die cut flowers with some 'recycled' buttons.

And it's made a very handy desk tidy! And believe me, my desk needs all the help it can get to be tidy!
So, hope you like my bit of recycling - and I hope you will have a look at the great inspiration from the JS DT and then join in with your recycled projects!
And it's been great fun to be part of a fantastic DT for a month!

New Home!

Hello, I'm back again - and it's time for a new challenge over at Polkadoodles!  This week the challenge is to make a 'New Home' card and should feature a tree!

For my card I used the Polkadoodles Pickniks 1 cd  and used images from the 'In the garden' folder. I've used several images and 'merged' them together using a graphics program

I then printed out some clouds and added them as slightly raised embellies!  The cute signpost is also from the cd. I've added some text and then also added it as a raised embellie. The check backing paper is also from the cd.  I've then added some buttons from stash with a Spellbinders border and ribbon.

So do have a look at the fabulous DT makes over at Polkadoodles and then join us for our New Home challenge!

One for the boys

Good morning - and it's Friday so time for a new challenge over at CraftyCatz!  And this week our lovely Naomi is hosting the challenge and she has chosen the theme of 'One for the boys'! So we want to see your crafty creations for the male of the species!

For my DT card I've used a sweet LOTV stamp called 'By the river'

I've coloured the image with promarkers and flexmarkers. The blue backing papers are from LOTV with some added stitching. The 'text' paper is from my stash! I've added DooHickey 'lovely fence' die cut with sentiment stamps from LOTV.

Hope you like it!
And I hope you'll have a look at the fabulous inspiration from the DT over at CraftyCatz and then join us with your cards for the boys!

For You

Hello all and I hope that your week is going smoothly? I feel as though it's been a 'bitty' sort of week up to now, with lots of little jobs, places to go, things to do - and not sure whether I've actually achieved anything lol!  But at least as I look outside the sun is shining (after heavy rain early this morning!) - but it's so blustery! But that sunshine does wonders to perk you up!  So I'll shortly have to don the wellies (so glamorous!) and head off out with Tilly the Dog.  She decided long ago that if I wasn't out at work then just after lunch was a perfect time for a doggy walk - and she'll follow behind me or sit sighing in front of me until I give in and put my coat and wellies on!

Before I head off onto the field, I thought I'd share a card with you I made for a fellow crafter!  I've been fortunate to have a brilliant craft shop - Cardcraft-UK - not far from home which I have been a regular visitor to for a number of years and my daughter had her first Saturday job there from aged 16 for nearly 2 years.  But sadly, due to ill health and family commitments, they are having to close the shop. This is especially sad for people like me who just love browsing and are addicted to paper!  But they also have a wonderful website and online 'shop' which will be carrying on business - so at least I'll still be able to get a crafty shopping fix!  Anyway, before they close the actual shop in another week, I wanted to drop a card off as a little 'thank you' for all the crafting enjoyment I've had visiting (and purchasing!) in the shop!

I've used LOTV stamp 'Times to Treasure' and coloured it with promarkers and flexmarkers

The scrummy backing papers are from K&Co with some added stitching. I've mounted the image onto a Spellbinders 'floral oval' and added sentiment stamps from LOTV. The flowers are from WOC with a seam binding ribbon bow and some lace from stash.  The bunting was made using a Whimsy die.
And the inside decorated to match

And thankfully Sandra at the shop liked it - which is the main thing!
So if you get the chance, do check out their brilliant online store at Cardcraft-UK - it's well worth a visit!

Don't Laugh....

Hello all and hope that your week has started well? I must admit, although I can do without the early start and rushing around, a part of me does like the routine (not to mention a few hours on my own in the house!). But I'm back at work tomorrow as well - so holiday will be well and truly over!

Anyway, just wanted to share one of the new digis from Whimsy - and this fabulous one is from Crissy's Digis called 'Don't Laugh' and you can buy it HERE

Just love that expression - and I know it so well!
I've coloured the image with promarkers and flexmarkers, with a little added pencil

The backing paper is from First Edition, with coredinations card. I typed up a sentiment and mounted it - then added some stitching. The brads are from stash and I used a little scrap wool to make the embellie!
I often like to sit and knit or crochet in an evening (if I'm not playing with paper!) - and my cat Grumpy Poppy just loves 'helping' with the wool.  And definitely has that expression on her face when she either gets told off - or tangled up in the wool and we laugh at her!

So do pop over to Whimsy and catch up with all the lovely new releases - there really is something for any occasion!

For a grump!

Hello all and hope that you've had a relaxing weekend? I've been performing my usual multi-purpose role of :-

  * Catering Manager
   *Primary Cleaning Operative
*Taxi service - door to door operation provided
*Pet Care Assistant providing 24 hour care, exercise and nutritional support
   *Laundry Supervisor
*and Google provision (i.e. knowing the answers/whereabouts of everything.....)

Not a bad job description really - but I'd just like to know what the salary would be.....!  Sigh....

Hope that little rant didn't sound too negative lol!  I wouldn't swap my position for the world (well, only sometimes...)

Anyway, just thought I'd share a card with you today that features another wonderful Grump - Gus from Bugaboo images!

I think we all feel like that at times!  And my brain is definitely getting like that.
I've coloured the image with promarkers and flexmarkers

Sorry that the picture seems a bit dark - I needed to get the photo done quickly so that it could be sent off and the light was going a bit!  It's just a simple layout with coredinations card. I've embossed the centre panel with a CraftsToo folder and then added some stars and ribbon from stash.  The sentiment is a great one that comes along with the image.
Well, I'd better get started on the day's jobs - youngest is back at school tomorrow (much to his distress) and hubby is back at work (much to his distress too!).  We've all enjoyed time off this last week but it's scary how fast it passes. But I quite like it too when we're all back to routine!
And I promise to get round to everyone's blogs over the next few days - I feel as though I haven't had chance to have a good browse around Blogland and catch up with what all you talented crafters have been up to over the last week!

Let's get Krafty!

Hi and I'm back again with a new challenge over at Totally Papercrafts - and this week our lovely Susan has chosen the challenge 'Get Krafty' - so we want to see some kraft card somewhere on your papercrafting creation!

For my DT inspiration contribution I've used a gorgeous image from Time for Tea designs available over at Polkadoodles and this one is called 'Winter Warmth'

I've coloured the digi with promarkers and flexmarkers

The krafty spotty paper is from the LOTV 'KraftyChristmas' and some textured coredinations card with a pompom trim. The mulberry paper flower is from WOC with button from stash.

Now, truth be told, I think I got a bit confused with this card and image - is it a Christmas one or not? I've made it up and I'm still not sure!  I think I'll have to colour it up again - and then definitely make it into a Christmas one lol!
Anyway, I do hope that you'll pop over to Totally Papercrafts and see the great creations from the DT.

Time for a sketch!

Good morning all and hope that you have something nice planned for the weekend? Because - yay! - it's Friday!
And because it's Friday it's time for a new challenge over at CraftyCatz!  There were some fabulous entries last week - and wow, what a lot of entries! Anyway, this week our special Aunty Sue is hosting the challenge and she has set a 'Sketch' as a challenge!

and we have two sponsors - the Paper Shelter and Marianne Designs.
I've used a PaperShelter image on my take on the sketch

I've used a pre-coloured digi from the PaperShelter and the backing papers are from K&Co. I've added some flowers cut with Marianne dies with buttons from stash and the corners were made with a Spellbinders die.
Hope you like it - and hope that you can go over to CraftyCatz and see the fantastic inspiration from the DT and join in with the challenge this week!

Up, up and away....

Hello all in Blogland and hope that your week has been going well? The time seems to have sped past me at a frightening speed this week - I can't believe it's Thursday already!  It's amazing how busy you can be when you're NOT at work lol.  I always imagine when we have time off that we'll have long lazy days with lots to time to potter and do things - but strangely the days just seem to whizz by!  Thanks for all your good wishes about my couple of girly days away!  My friend and I had a fantastic time - we travelled up to Glasgow on the train first class (a real treat, with lunch & drinks served!), had a good few hours wandering around the shops and going for an early tea. Then off to a gorgeous hotel, and then the Il Divo concert - and they were fabulous (as always!).  Not much nicer than watching and listening to four handsome men, singing with gorgeous voices and a wonderful orchestra.....Sigh......  Anyway, back to reality again now - but I think the family missed me a bit really!  It's perhaps good for them now and again if I disappear for a day or so!

Apologies for the waffle, and time to share a card with you today using one of the April new releases from Whimsy.

I've used some of the collection of Hot Air Balloons from Moon Cookie Gallery - and coloured them with promarkers and added sky & clouds done with chalks

The backing paper is from K&Co with faux stitching stamp round the edges. I've added a tag cut with a Spellbinders floral oval die and a vellum sentiment added (with brads and ribbon from stash)

Hope you like it! Do pop over to Whimsy and have a look at all the great new digis.

Boys having fun!

Good morning all and hope that your week has started well? Just a quick post from me today - I'm heading off for a girly couple of days away with one of my best friends to Glasgow.  We're off for a concert, shopping and meals out - with no husbands, offspring, or dogs to walk for 48 hours lol! (My friend has 3 beautiful but very large Newfoundlands who are Tilly the Dog's favourite furry friends!).

Just wanted to share a card with you today using one of my favourite Mo images - Kite - and I make no apology if you've seen him numerous times before because I think he's just so cute!

I've coloured the image with promarkers and flexmarkers and a little pencil

The backing paper is from K&Co, with some added stitching. I've added twill tape and punched edges using an MS punch. The tickets are with a Whimsy die and blank ticket stamp and then the sentiment is LOTV! And that gorgeous wooden kite is from CraftyEmblies.

And the inside decorated to match!

Hope you like it!

Spring Into Spring!

Hello all - and a very warm welcome to my new followers! It's lovely to have you join me in my crafty corner of Blogland!  I hope you are all enjoying your weekend - and thankfully we have lovely sunshine here which lifts everyone's spirits.  My husband has been off to get some wood and is making me a new bird table/feeder today as my old birdtable is gradually collapsing.  The pond is full of frisky frogs (bit of tongue twister that!) who are up to no good with lots of singing to one another and a lot of splashing, and the pond is getting so full of frogspawn that it's starting to look like a tapioca pudding. And all the gorgeous little daffodils are bursting open - they've withstood the rain, snow, wind and frost - but I have to admit that they struggle a bit to cope with big fat dog feet wandering across them. I bet when Wordsworth wandered lonely as a cloud  gazing at daffodils, they hadn't been trampled over by a pudding of a dog.....

Anyway, all the signs are that SPRING is on it's way - finally.  And that is the theme for the new challenge over at the Joanna Sheen Challenge Blog - and I'm thrilled to say that yours truly is a Guest Design Team member for April! Woo hoo!  Excited isn't the word!  So here is my contribution - but do go and see all the fabulous inspiration for 'Spring into Spring' from the JS DT!

I've used a gorgeous House Mouse stamp - 'Sunflower' - and coloured them with promarkers and flexmarkers and added little 'pearls' to the flowers with a pearl pen

The backing paper is from Nitwits at LOTV, with an embossed panel using CraftsToo embossing folder. The image is mounted on a Spellbinders 'floral oval' with one of the smaller die cuts in the corner.  I've added some scrummy Joanna Sheen spotty ribbon and flowers from WOC. The die cut leaves are Poppystamps 'meadow leaf' - with some lace and pearl trim from stash.

And inside I've added a 'pocket' so that a note, gift voucher or, perhaps more appropriately for Spring, some flower seeds!

Hope you like it! And hope that it feels like Spring is on it's way wherever you are!
So do pop over to the Joanna Sheen Challenge - and join in!

Hello I'm back again - and our lovely Janette over at CraftyCatz has chosen everyone's favourite challenge - anything goes! And the DT has produced some fabulous inspiration as always! So do pop over to CraftyCatz - and then join in!

For my DT creation this week I've used one of the first digi stamps I bought - Sally & Bella from SassyCheryl!

Aren't they the cutest pair?  I've coloured the digi with promarkers and flexmarkers

The scrummy backing papers are from Nitwit at LOTV with coredinations card. And I've added some of my favourite die cuts lol! I just love the banner dies and matching stamps from Whimsy that I recently acquired - apologies in advance for these keep reappearing in different formats because I think they're just so sweet! And I've also added that lovely DooHickey doily flower too, with a button from stash - and a few gems from stash to match!

Pink & Brown!

Good morning - and Friday again already! The weeks do fly by so fast. And with having a Bank Holiday this week and having offspring & husband at home it's confused me completely (mind you, it doesn't take much lol!). But the lovely bit is that we're both off work for the week next week, I'm away for 2 days (and leaving a little list of jobs for husband lol!) but hopefully we'll get some time to relax together too!

Anyway, it's time for a new challenge over at Polkadoodles Challenge- and this week our lovely Anjie has chosen the theme of 'Pink & Brown' so a nice easy one for everyone.  For my DT contribution I've used another one of the fabulous new digi images on the Fredericka cd that's a new release over at Polkadoodles!

This gorgeous girl is called 'Billie'. I've coloured her with promarkers and flexmarkers.

The backing papers are also from the Fredericka cd - so cute! I've added a sentiment from the cd, mounted on coredinations card, and ribbon and brads from stash. The flowers are cut with Marianne dies with added pearls.

Has Spring sprung?

Good morning all and hope that your morning is sunny like it is here - does this mean Spring has finally arrived? I won't hold my breath - but it is lovely to have the sunshine!  I'm going away for a night with a friend next week (for a concert and some shopping!) and I can more or less guarantee that it'll rain then lol! We're off to Glasgow - we've been a few times before and love it! It's a great city centre, lovely buildings, great shopping & places to eat (I sound like a tourist brochure lol!) - and we're off to see Il Divo at the SECC.  And I should perhaps confess that we've seen them a few times (about 6 or 7 actually!). Seems a bit strange being groupies at our age....  But whoever we were off to see, it's just nice to have a girly getaway!

Anyway, I have a little card to share with you today that I made with the new cd release from Polkadoodles 'Fredericka'

This image is 'Tilly' and she looks very thoughtful!  I've coloured her with promarkers and flexmarkers

The blue backing paper was a freebie and the lovely 'wordy' paper is from EK Success 'Inspirables'. I've added some distress ink, some twine ribbon & brads from stash with some twine.  Quite a simple layout but I think it looks ok.
Do pop over to Polkadoodles and have a look at the great offers - and this fantastic new cd

It's time for some new releases from Whimsy Digi stamps and they've got some wonderful new designs for everyone!  I have used a new digi stamp from LiaStampz for my card today, a cute image called 'Toy Plane' which would be great for a little boy card! (or even a big boy lol!)

I've coloured the image with promarkers and flexmarkers

The backing papers are from LOTV and Nitwit, with coredinations card for matting and layering. The gorgeous banner stamps & die are from Whimsy too, with some ribbon and button from stash.
