Clean & Simple!

Good morning and the week seems to have passed in a flash once more! I can't believe that it's Christmas in just over 5 weeks - how scary is that???
Anyway, as it's Friday it's time for a new challenge at Totally Papercrafts.  And this week was definitely a challenge for me!  Our Lovely Lisa has chosen the challenge 'CAS - Black & White'.  Now I browse around lots of blog out there in Blogland and some people do fantastic CAS cards, but when I try it mine always look unfinished!  But, I thought I'd be brave and have a go...

I think I managed the Black & White - but the CAS is probably a bit dodgy.... I don't think my crafting brain is geared to a clean and simple layout.
Anyway, I've used a tree stamp and sentiment both from Chocolate Baroque, with some added pearls and gems on the tree. These are matted onto silver mirri card, with some b&w gingham ribbon (from Joanna Sheen).  The die cut flower was made with a Sizzix die.
So after all the huffing and puffing while I tried to decide what to do, I was quite pleased with it when I'd finished, although it's perhaps a bit on the simple side!
So I do hope that you'll join in with us this week at Totally Papercrafts.  I'd love to get some more CAS inspiration from everyone!

Christmas Star

Good morning, Friday has whizzed around pretty quickly this week! I have to confess that most of my 'papercrafting' this week has involved wallpaper! The decorating is coming along - but boy, will I be glad when it's done! I have kept muttering threats under my breath and grumbling about whose stupid idea it was to decorate the lounge - but as has been pointed out to me, it was my idea....!  But I don't deal well with the house in disorder (although with the constant comings and goings of a house full you'd think I'd be used to it!), so I'll be very relieved to get things back to normal - well, as normal as our house ever is.

Anyway, less of my waffling! As it's Friday it's time for a new challenge over at Totally Papercrafts - and the theme for this week, chosen by our lovely Laine is 'Twinkle, Twinkle, Christmas Star'!  So we want to see stars somewhere on your creation!  My contribution for this challenge is

I've used this gorgeous stamp from LOTV, and coloured her with promarkers and pencils, with added stickles and pearly bits!

The backing paper is from Joanna Sheen ('Haberdashery' pad!), and the stripy one was a freebie! I've added some stitching and lace. The spotty ribbon is also from Joanna Sheen. The sentiment is from LOTV.

No Squares!

Yes, it's me back again! Friday also means a new challenge over at Totally Papercrafts. Thank you to everyone who entered my challenge there last week for pastel colours - nice to know they're popular with lots of other people too!
This week the lovely Susan set the challenge of 'shaped cards' - i.e. no squares. Now this was definitely a challenge for me as 99% of my cards are square! Oh dear.  So I decided I'd go for something completely different - and made a hanging decoration instead!

And I must admit that I really enjoyed making something a bit different!  So I used two of my favourites of the new LOTV stamps - 'My Little Tree' and 'Christmas Star' - and one of the grungy sentiments. (Although when I showed this proudly to my hubby and said it was for a 'no squares' challenge he helpfully pointed out that the sentiment was a square... I won't repeat my response...! Sometimes you wonder why you bother!)

I've coloured the images with promarkers and pencils, added plenty of stickles and then added pearl pen 'snow'.  I've added gingham ribbon from stash and then a few roses from WOC - a few red ones and then a couple of ivory roses sprayed with Cosmic Shimmer spray.  I think it makes quite a nice hanging decoration - and nice to display some of the cute images!
Hope you like it. So do pop over to Totally Papercrafts and get some 'no squares' inspiration from the fab DT!
