What a cute little bear!

Hello all and hope that you've had a good day!  I've been at work - sadly! - and being surrounded by files and bank statements is not the sort of paper I prefer to be playing with!

Anyway, just wanted to share another of the new June releases from Whimsy Digital - and this one is the gorgeous Baby Bear with Butterfly from Stamp Art Design

I've coloured the image with copics and promarkers with a little added glitter!
The backing papers are from First Edition. I've added a seam binding ribbon bow (with a little glitter heart from stash) and the silvery butterfly was from some blog candy from Eileen at Stars Cards!
So do check out the gorgeous new releases from Whimsy - there are some fabulous images for everyone!

And a very big thank you for all your lovely comments you leave on my creations! And it seems that my previous post about the trials of teenagers struck a chord with many of you lol!  But despite my moans (and yes, I do occasionally have a rant!) I do think they're gorgeous!  And here's a little pic of husband and me with our offspring (my 2 stepdaughters and our 2) - it was his 60th birthday earlier this year and in February we had a long weekend away together and we took all four of our crew and their partners (well, in my son's case, one of his best friends who he's know since they were tots!) and the 10 of us had a fabulous time!

The ages range from 30, 28, nearly 20 and our son who is nearly 15!

Anyway, apologies for the little indulgence there - but as I waffle on about our family (probably too much!) I thought I'd share a pic!

Back soon,
Kim x

Plugged in and recharging....

Hello all and I hope that your week has started well?  We seem to have had a busy few days, my husband got back from Dubai on a work trip at the end of last week, and my daughter and boyfriend left for a post-exams holiday in Lanzarote yesterday - so we seem to have had suitcases and laundry all over the place lol!  Thankfully the weather has been lovely, so at least we've been able to sit out, have a bbq (and get the laundry dry lol!).  Anyway, I'm hoping to catch up with everyone's blogs over the next day or so - and apologies if I've not been to 'visit'.

Just thought I'd share this card with you today as when I saw this Mo image 'Paul texting' I just had to have it - as the current 'owner' of a teenage boy it was just so perfect!  Our gorgeous little boy has undergone something of a transformation over the last year or so.  He seems to constantly have something plugged in somewhere about his person, headphones connected to iPod, phone, computer, xBox, etc. Communications with us are kept to a minimum (the occasional grunt), and he converses mostly with his mates over the ether of the internet via Skype or xBox, and I've learnt not to burst into his room as his mates are often on a webcam! We're convinced that aliens have taken over his body, and all those wires are recharging him or helping him communicate with the mothership......

And Mo's image is built like my son too - all legs and arms!  I've coloured the image with copics and a little pencil.

The backing paper is from K&Co and I've distressed the edges of the coredinations card used for matting and layering. I've added a little grey seam binding ribbon and button.

Despite all this, I love my son to bits!  He is in a bit of grump this week though as he's got exams all week at school (he's 14) and he'd rather be on his computer or strumming his guitar than having to revise! Just a typical teenager really!
Anyway, I'll stop waffling now and get some jobs done then start having a browse round Blogland!

Lace and Buttons!

Good morning all and we've sped around the week and it's Friday again!  But the good news is that Friday means time for a new challenge over at CraftyCatz!  And this week it's ME who's hosting the challenge!  Our sponsor this week is the fabulous Mei Flower Crafts - and I've picked a nice easy challenge - 'use Lace and Buttons' on your creation!

Now as I mentioned in my post yesterday, I've been playing with some of my 'older' stamps from LOTV and I've used the gorgeous Rosie Posy

Isn't she sweet? I've coloured the image with copics and promarkers
The backing papers are from LOTV on kraft card. I've also used their 'stitches' stamp to add some faux stitching and an LOTV sentiment tag. I've added a Joy Crafts leafy die cut and DooHickey doily flower. The buttons are from stash - as is the lace.
And the inside decorated to match!

So do pop over to the Crafty Catz challenge and have a look at the fantastic inspiration from the DT!  And then dig out your lace and buttons and join in!

Pretty in pinks & purples!

Hello all and I hope that your week has been going well - and that you've been able to enjoy the glorious weather we've been having at the moment over a lot of the UK!  I know that warm weather is not to everyone's taste, but I must admit that I love to see some sunshine!  And thank you for all your kind comments about my garden pics - it's not a very big garden, but I quite like it!  And I'm not sure I'd have time to look after anything a lot bigger!  I'll try and get some pics of the pond soon - preferably before Tilly the Dog drinks any more of it!  I shudder to think about the effect that pond water, pondweed and the odd tadpole for extra seasoning must have on her digestive system - but when it's warm she seems to prefer drinking from there than from the nice clean water in her bowl!  Strange dog!

Anyway, just thought I'd share a card that I made with one of my 'older' LOTV stamps (there'll be another one appearing tomorrow lol!) - this one is 'New Hat'

And with such a girly image, I've gone for a girly colour combination too.  I've coloured the image with copics and promarkers - and I must confess that I'm loving working with the (few) copics that I own.  They seem to blend very well and have 'clearer' colour tones - well in my humble opinion!  But I've also got quite a lot of promarkers and not the purse to completely change over so I think I'll just keep adding odd ones to the collection!
The papers are also from LOTV - as is the sentiment! I've added a bow of spotty ribbon from Joanna Sheen and a pearl brad.  And I was lucky enough to get the Memory Box precious hearts dies - so sweet!

And the inside decorated to match!

Hope you like the very girly offering today!

Plant overload....?

Hello all, just a quick post from me this evening - and not a craft-related one (unless you count gardens as craft lol!).  As I've mentioned a few times about my little garden, and the trials and tribulations of gardening with Tilly the Dog (owner of big fat feet that trample plants quite happily) and Grumpy Poppy who sprawls out in the sunshine (and occasionally digs little holes for me in the garden too!) - I thought I'd just share a couple of pics that I took of said garden! And I think I've probably reached a bit of a plant overload with it now - it's definitely not CAS style lol!

Not very big or glamourous, but I quite like it! It's sort of an L-shape and there's a glimpse of the greenhouse where I was busy this afternoon planting up veg - and sweating a lot! Not a pretty sight! But probably good for me to work off the lunch I had out with my daughter to celebrate 'end of exams'!

And my beloved acer tree - strange how you can get quite attached to plants lol! We seem to have acquired a small tree or shrub for pets that have died - strange I know! So some things are called 'Smudge's Tree' or 'Daisy's Tree'! Not exactly Gardener's World is it?  And there are an abundance of bird feeders that I seem to constantly be refilling - Poppy the cat sprawls out asleep on the table or bench and the birds still come down to the feeders and just ignore her!
And look away now if you're frightened of spiders....
but we found a nest of baby spiders, each the size of a pinhead! And my son Jack took this great pic!
So, apologies for the waffle - and extra apologies as there was no crafting to share but there will be tomorrow!  Hope that you've had sunshine too!

Peachy Pink!

Hello all - and I just hope that your weather has been as glorious as it has been here! Blue skies and lots of lovely sunshine - just a shame I had to be at work lol!  But it's forecast to last for a few days yet, so as I'm off tomorrow and Thursday I'm keeping my fingers crossed. It's my daughter's last exam tomorrow from her 2nd year at Uni (can't believe it's passed that fast!) - so I'm picking her up afterwards and we're going out for coffee & cake! Well, it's any excuse really!  And then I really must go and get some more compost for planting up tomato plants that are starting to get a bit carried away with themselves in the greenhouse!  And I must remember to take some photos of how nice the pots and such like because they're looking so pretty at the moment (things in pots seem to do better in my garden - must be something to do with not having big fat doggy feet walking across them.....)

Anyway, I'll stop wittering on now and share a card with you!  I made this one with a sweet Saturated Canary image 'Ellie's Birthday'

And I've used peachy pinks and greens!  I've coloured the image with promarkers and copics and I've added some glossy accents to the balloons but I don't think it shows up on the pics!
The papers are from First Edition and I've used Spellbinders floral oval die. I've added a Marianne die cut swirl and some peachy flowers from WOC.  The ribbon is from stash and the sentiment tag is from LOTV.
Hope you like it!
Enjoy the sunshine - if you've got it!

Cool for Cats!

Hello all in Blogland and I hope that you've had a great weekend?  And the sun has been shining here all weekend which is wonderful! Thing is, when the sun shines there suddenly seems to be a lot more things to do - and the garden is probably top of the list! So with my trusty aide (i.e. Tilly the Dog) I've been trying to get things under control, plant things out, and do lots of watering - although when I get the hose out then Tilly tends to take cover as she thinks "Oh no! Bathtime!" as I usually brandish the hose when she's rolled in something unsavoury on the field.  But all these jobs are a small price to pay for having warm sunshine!

Anyway, it's time to share one of the new releases from Whimsy Digital - and there are some gorgeous new digi images out this month so do pop over to the website and have a look!  I've used the fabulous CoolCats Life Saver that is available HERE

Isn't he a cool guy?!!
I've coloured the image with promarkers and some added pencil

The surfer dude backing paper is from My Minds Eye with some added coredinations card, ribbon and button from stash. The sentiment tags are from LOTV.

So do have a look at the new releases over at Whimsy!
