Before I head off onto the field, I thought I'd share a card with you I made for a fellow crafter! I've been fortunate to have a brilliant craft shop - Cardcraft-UK - not far from home which I have been a regular visitor to for a number of years and my daughter had her first Saturday job there from aged 16 for nearly 2 years. But sadly, due to ill health and family commitments, they are having to close the shop. This is especially sad for people like me who just love browsing and are addicted to paper! But they also have a wonderful website and online 'shop' which will be carrying on business - so at least I'll still be able to get a crafty shopping fix! Anyway, before they close the actual shop in another week, I wanted to drop a card off as a little 'thank you' for all the crafting enjoyment I've had visiting (and purchasing!) in the shop!
I've used LOTV stamp 'Times to Treasure' and coloured it with promarkers and flexmarkers
The scrummy backing papers are from K&Co with some added stitching. I've mounted the image onto a Spellbinders 'floral oval' and added sentiment stamps from LOTV. The flowers are from WOC with a seam binding ribbon bow and some lace from stash. The bunting was made using a Whimsy die.
And the inside decorated to match
And thankfully Sandra at the shop liked it - which is the main thing!
So if you get the chance, do check out their brilliant online store at Cardcraft-UK - it's well worth a visit!
Back soon,
Kim x
I'm entering this card into the following challenges:-
LilisLittleFairies - seeing double
Creative Belli - pastels
I Love Promarkers - pastel colours
Inky Impressions - punches/dies
Paper Shelter - at least 2 flowers
Stampin Royalty - photo inspiration
Fabulous card Kim and I adore that sweet image. I like the layout and flowers as well and that's a neat way to use the banner. How thoughtful to show the shop owners how much you appreciated and will miss them... I'm sure they are going to cherish this card.
ReplyDeleteHi Kim,
ReplyDeletewhat a lovely gesture to make them such a very beautiful card. Yes it is very sad to see a craft shop go because you can't beat a good browse around a craft shop. The internet is okay
but you need to see papers in the flesh so to speak. I still don't think the internet does justice to the patterns and feel of a paper, like a browse in a craft shop.
Your card is a very superb design and wonderful colours.
Have a wonderful crafty day.
Lots of crafty love. Jenny L.

Oh Kim this is wonderful and such a thoughtful gesture. Although we have a couple of chain craft stores local, our privately owned one's have closed their doors and I really miss them so. They always had unique stuff the chains don't carry. Hope you and Tilly had a nice romp. Hugs!
